Project Visual Music Retrieval (VisMuR) This project revolutionise the music search. Now everybody can find similar music to his/her favorite pieces of music. Overview Serval commercial and non-commercial web portals offer to search music files, which however is limited to key-word-based search on subjects like genre, artist, and so on. Content-based similarity search for music retrieval attracted a lot attention in recent multimedia research. An aim of the research area is to develop techniques to answer the following question:
The answer of this question usually depends on the persons emotions to the specific piece of music. This means, everybody should get an individual result for the same piece of music, because everyone has different emotions to this piece of music. The aim the projects is to develop a visual interactive music retrieval system. It is a new attempt to cross the semantic chasm between user and search system by visually supported relevance feedback. |
