Who I am

I’m a postdoc researcher at the Dresden Database Systems Group. My PhD was about establishing the continuous lightweight compression of intermediate results in complex OLAP queries in in-memory column-stores. In that context, I played a crucial role in the design and development of MorphStore, a research prototype of an in-memory query engine for columnar data, supporting compression and SIMD as first class citizens.

My research interests and experience includes, but is not limited to

  • in-memory DBMSs
  • column-stores
  • OLAP
  • query optimization
  • query execution
  • lightweight compression
  • SIMD
  • modern Hardware
  • system-level programming

I am/was also involved in research on

  • NVRAM
  • ML for systems
  • resilience
  • energy efficiency
